The course teaches how to plan the test effort, develop test artifacts, align with requirements and development, manage the test team's work, monitor progress, submit and track defects, and report test results and status. Through hands-on lab exercises that reinforce learning, you will experience the benefits of test management that is integrated with requirements and development through the Rational solution for Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM). IBM Rational Quality Manager is a key component of the Rational solution for Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM), providing quality management capabilities in a fully-integrated environment that can also include Rational Team Concert for change and configuration management, and Rational Requirements Composer for requirements definition and management.

Rational DOORS Next Generation is a key component of the Rational solution for Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM). The product provides requirements definition and management capabilities in a fully-integrated environment that can also include IBM® Rational Team Concert for change and configuration management, and IBM® Rational® Quality Manager for quality management.

Developing Software with IBM Rational Team Concert V6 is designed as an introduction to IBM Rational Team Concert for software developers. You will learn to utilize IBM Rational Team Concert to effectively manage work items, collaborate and share work with teams using Jazz source control, request and analyze software builds, and monitor the status of Eclipse-based development projects using reports and web-based dashboards.

This course teaches application developers how to set up a Controller application and effectively use Controller in their organization’s consolidation process. Students will also design and generate financial reports using Controller. Through a series of lectures and hands-on exercises, students will set up a Controller application by creating the necessary structures (such as accounts and companies), and then test the application to ensure that it works properly. Students will also learn how to work with currency translation, allocations, intercompany transactions, investments in subsidiaries, advanced formula calculations, and user-defined business rules, as well as define configuration settings and user access to the application. This course teaches authors, with basic knowledge of group accounting and Microsoft Excel, how to design and generate financial reports using IBM Cognos Controller. Enterprise agile methodologies describe an approach for orchestrating the planning and execution of software or product delivery across an organization. While teams are happily executing, ideas are constantly coming into the portfolio. Some of these ideas require immediate attention while others can sit until the next planning cycle.

This workshop is based on a fictitious banking company and a realistic software development project whose goal is to deliver a release of an application. The scenario centers on a single iteration (sprint) by the team responsible for delivering an initiative. All the activities within the scenario occur in the scope of a single sprint for one team. The team is using IBM Engineering Workflow Management to plan, track, collaborate, and deliver the release. Collaborative work is performed to capture requirements with IBM Engineering Requirements Management and plan, construct and record execution of tests with IBM Engineering Test Management.

This lab introduces a new user to the basic navigation of the applications (Requirements Management, Change and Configuration Management and Quality Management) of IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) solution. The Lab also covers basic concepts and terminologies that a ELM user should be familiar with.

This lab focuses on Jazz Reporting Services Report Builder (JRS) which allows self-serve reports to be dynamically created and executed. Reports may be in tabulatedor chart form. Reports may be exported to physical documents such as Word and PDF or may appear on Dashboards across the Jazz Platform. Reports may also be exported to IBM EngineeringLifecycleOptimization –Publishingfor further enhancement such as adding company standard stylesheets, cover pages andso on. It should also be noted that JRS Report Builder can report on both live, configuration managed data in LQE but also on historical data stored in the Data Warehouse. This lab focuses on the former.

In this lightning lab you will explore some of the basic features of IBM Engineering Test Management (ETM) and its automation. You will create a Test Plan and use powerful automations to create Test Cases directly from linked requirements. You will create a manual test script automatically from the description of a Test Case. You will execute that script and, when it fails, you will see how ETM can raise defects in the planning system (in this case IBM Engineering Workflow Management) and automatically link to all the relevant artifacts in ETM. ETM has so many powerful features that it is impossible to do anything more than scratch the surface in a short lab such as this. As such we will not be covering features such as Test Suites, Lab Management, Build Definitions and Records, Automated Test Execution Schedules, Reporting, Metrics or any of the other incredible features ETM offers.

In this Lightning Lab you will create a very simple model, first importing requirements from an OSLC source (in this case IBM Engineering Requirements Management) and connecting them to Use Cases. You will model system behavior using Sequence Diagrams and Activities and prove the model by simulating the design. Lightning Labs are designed to take less than two hours to complete – as such this is a highly-simplified example and you will barely scratch the surface of the power that Rhapsody offers.
